Did you say POPCORN?

Currently Sydney is wild about popcorn!
She loves to share a bowl (or two) with daddy at night!

Her favorite flavor is Cheddar Cheese!! Yum!

Peacocks in our neighborhood

Here our the beautiful peacocks that live in our neighborhood! Currently we have 15 beautiful peacocks total. Sydney just loves them! Each day we visit with them at least once. Sydney really gets a giggle when they fly down off the roofs.

Dress Up Time

Today has been a rainy day with thunder and lightening. We have been stuck inside for most of the afternoon. So, I began to do the household chores that were beginning to pile up. I began by changing the sheets on Sydney's bed. We were both in her room folding clothes and such. She discovered her hair bow holder and the rest is history! As I folded clothes and changed her sheets Sydney began to bring me her hair bows off her hair bow holder one by one. She insisted that I put each bow in her hair! Is was so cute... Here is the result of a rainy day in Texas at Sydney Kate's house! Enjoy!

Happiness

I have already posted on Sydney's blog today but just had to share one thought.... as I listen to the news tonight all that is being reported is all that is wrong...all that is wrong with our nation, our nations economy, and on and on. Words primarily used tonight: can't, won't, never, etc. It got me thinking.....so much in this world is right but that will never make the top spot on the 10 o'clock news. Yes, our nation is facing many obstacles that will take prayer, time, and effort from everyone. But, you know, life is short. Shouldn't we highlight what we do have and what we can achieve ???

My hope for my sweet Sydney is that she sees through all the fog of negativeness for the underlying good in this world. Thank you sweet girl, for showing mommy all that is good!

Mommy loves you!

Peanut Butter and Jelly

Verdict: Sydney likes peanut butter!

As a first time mom I followed the rule: do not give peanut butter to your little one until she is two. So, Andrew and I resisted the temptation to have her try a peanut butter and jelly sandwich until now. Andrew and I are both huge fans of peanut butter and hoped Sydney would not have an allergy to it.

Here are some photos of her first experience with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. She really liked it! Whew!

Yea!

Today Sydney visited the Pediatric Eye Doctor. We have had to have her vision checked every 6 months since she was born to ensure no damage occurred from her exposure to oxygen in the NICU when she was born (fortunately she was only on oxygen for the first 23 hours after she was born.)

Today....we had our final visit with Dr. Hunt! I am so happy to report...Sydney's eye's are great and we do not have to worry anymore about possible problems associated with her prematurity! Everything looked great.

So, as you can imagine I have been incredibly happy all day. Sydney, on the other hand, is teething and just not feeling great at all. She took a very long nap today and is playing in her play room. She has been extra cuddly this afternoon and I will never complain about that!

Spring is Here!

Spring is Here!

Sydney just can not get enough of the outdoors. She would prefer if we remained outside all day long! We have spent time at the parks here lately. Sydney LOVES to walk along the trails and find sticks. Awww....the simple life :)

Each evening we go outside and play with our neighbors. Sydney loves to ride her PowerWheels 4 wheeler and walk along the sidewalk with her daddy.

Andrew and I are planning to take Sydney for her annual bluebonnets pictures soon!

Welcome

Sydney

Welcome to my precious Sydney's blog. I have been meaning to create a blog for some time now but as you can imagine life with a toddler is pretty busy. Lately, Sydney has just been the funniest girl ever! From all the laughter, I just knew I had to begin a blog for her so that we could share all her funny and special moments.

As I begin this blog for Sydney I still can not believe that my little angel will be 2 years old next month. How did this ever happen? For the longest time I have wanted to just freeze her and never let her get big! LOL She is the most amazing little girl and my life is forever changed. I enjoy each and every moment with her. What did I ever do before she came into our lives??? (well...maybe I did get a little more sleep)

I hope you enjoy reading about Sydney's shenanigans!
