So proud

Mommy is so proud of you Sydney! Each day you are trying to make more words and it makes me so happy. Today, Sydney and Daddy were swimming in the pool when the timer turned the waterfall off. Sydney grabbed daddy's hand and lead him to the side of the house where the box that turns the waterfall on/off. She pointed to the box and said to daddy, "ON!"
We are thrilled at her continued progress! It won't be long and Sydney will be talking non-stop.

Graduation from Swim Lessons

Today was a very BIG day...Sydney Kate completed her 2 week swimming lesson class along with her 5 friends. Despite the poor weather, we got into the pool (thanks daddy for heating it for us) and completed our class.

All of the little ones received a certificate of completion! (ours is already on the refrigerator)

Afterwards, daddy cooked hot dogs on the grill. We all sat around and ate and enjoyed ourselves.

We are so proud of you...Ethan, Ben, Isabella, Nathaniel, Sydney Kate, Ellie!!!

Waterpark

Here is Miss Sydney playing with her friends at the waterpark last week.

Almost there....

Sydney is almost finished with her swim lessons. Only a few more days to go. Sydney has not enjoyed learning to swim in the water without her floaties. Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you sweetheart for continuing to try your very best. Keep it up!

Mansfield Arts Festival

Today Miss Sydney and I slapped on our sunscreen and headed to downtown Mansfield for the Arts Festival. As we got out her stroller and began to enter the festival, Sydney found the animals first thing!

She went on her first pony ride! She was so calm and really enjoyed it. Next, we had to go into the petting zoo. Sydney is fearless when it comes to animals and is always so gentle with them. She had to walk around and pet each animal (that took a little while but that's why we were there).

Next, she rode the wagon ride. She enjoyed it at first but after about 1 loop around the parking lot she was ready to get out and explore more!
We shared a hot dog for lunch and shopped around in the booths. We waited in line to have her face painted but the artist "went on break" as soon as it was our turn :( So, we headed home and Sydney enjoyed her Capri Sun juice box.
A few minutes later Sydney was fast asleep. What a wonderful day for both mommy and Sydney!

Simply Speaking!

Yesterday, Daddy and I were watching Brainy Baby with Sydney. As the colors were introduced out of the blue Sydney Kate says, "YELLOW"!!!! My heart just beamed with pride! She looked at both of us making sure we had in fact heard her accomplishment! Since her tubes in February Sydney has just flourished. We are so proud of her and she gets so proud of herself.

We can't wait as more and more speech develops. Miss Krisiti, her speech therapist, will just be so thrilled!

We love you so much Sydney Kate and you are our pride and joy.... forever and ever!

Love,
Mommy & Daddy

Swimming Lessons begin TODAY!

After class the little ones played in the sandbox.
As you can see Miss Sydney opted out for a snack instead! haha

Hip, Hip, Hooray!! Swimming lessons begin today at our home!

Sydney had been floating around the pool this season with her floaties and has quiet the confidence. Our swim coach is Miss Tonya and she brings a lifeguard with her to supervise. Five of Sydney's friends from our playgroup are in the class. They are Ellie, Isabella, Ethan, Nathaniel, Ben, and Miss Sydney.

WELL.....swim class today was without the floaties! Oh, no for mommy! Sydney did not want mommy to hold her or help her because "Sydney is a big girl when she wears her floaties". She didn't realize that without her floaties on she could sink. So, as you can imagine, swim class was a challenge. Thanks to all my mommy friends for helping. We passed Sydney around and she would cooperate with the other moms just not with her own (I hope this isn't the beginning of something! haha)

Overall, I am so very proud of her! After swim class, Sydney shared her playhouse and sand box with all her friends. She even shared her hot wheel car collection!!! That is HUGE!

Mommy and Daddy are so proud of our little swimmer.

More swim updates will follow. We have lessons here at the house for 2 weeks.
